The Department offers two (2) programmes leading to the award of Bachelor Degrees in -

a.    Pure Physics
b.    Physics with Computational Modelling

In accordance with the College philosophy, the two programmes have a common 100 level course structure which is summarized in Table 16.  All students admitted through UME to the Department must offer all the courses listed in Table 16.  Courses to be taken at 200 to 400 levels for Pure and Applied Physics and Physics with Computational Modelling are listed in that order in Tables 17, and 18 respectively.

Admission Requirements

All candidates seeking admission into programmes offered by COPAS must apply through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), either through the University Matriculation Examination (UME) Scheme or by direct entry.  UME candidates must show evidence of haven taken and earned the minimum UME score prescribed by JAMB. The UME subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Additional to the UME score, the candidate must possess a minimum of five (5) O-level credit passes at one or two sittings at most, including, English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
