Reverend Mother Esther (Dr.) Ajayi Advocates for Character Over Professionalism in Inspiring Address at Caleb University’s 13th Convocation

The esteemed Presiding Pastor of The Love of Christ Generation (C&S) Church, Nigeria, Reverend Mother (Dr.) Esther Abimbola Ajayi, popularly known as ‘Iya Adura,’ delivered a poignant address at the 13th Convocation Ceremony of Caleb University on February 3, 2024. During her speech, she passionately advocated for the significance of character over professionalism in the development of students.

Reverend Mother (Dr.) Esther Ajayi expressed her admiration for Caleb University, revealing that her affinity for the institution began when she encountered their billboard along the Lekki-Epe road. Since then, she has consistently praised the university for fostering an environment that promotes decency and moral values among its students.

“I have been a fan of Caleb University since the first time I saw their billboard around Lekki-Epe road. The decency and moral-life exhibited by the students of this institution have always impressed me. Today, I stand here not just as a fan, but as someone who believes in the values that Caleb University upholds,” stated Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi.

Highlighting her commitment to these values, she shared that she had enrolled a significant number of her adopted children in Caleb University. For her, the decision to choose Caleb University was rooted in the belief that character supersedes professionalism.

“I am proud to say that I have enrolled many of my adopted children in Caleb University because I firmly believe that character is of greater importance than mere professionalism. In a world that is constantly changing, where integrity and moral values are sometimes compromised, Caleb University stands out as a beacon of virtue,” she declared.

Reverend Mother (Dr.) Esther Ajayi emphasized the need for educational institutions to prioritize the holistic development of students, nurturing not only their academic prowess but also their moral character.

“I will choose character over professionalism any day. It is my sincere hope that more institutions will follow the example set by Caleb University, focusing on instilling values that will shape the future leaders of our nation,” she added.

As the Convocation Ceremony continued, the words of Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi resonated with the audience, emphasizing the enduring importance of character in the education and upbringing of the next generation.
