Caleb University Imota, the first degree awarding Private University in Lagos State; the first private university in Lagos state and Africa’s Best Private University in Research and Entrepreneurship Development has rewarded 22 freshers with Dr Akintoye Akindele Scholarship.
For emerging overall best 100 Level Students at the end of the first Semester examination, twenty two (22) indigent students across various departments have been awarded the Dr Akintoye Akindele Scholarship For 100 Level Caleb University Students.
The Chairman of the Screening Committee, Prof. Oluwole Alagbe, Dean COLENSMA, explained that “the 22 excellent students emerged after a rigorous process of selection by a Special Panel set up by the University Management. Students who recorded the highest CGPA across the departments, were shortlisted, screened and subsequently awarded the Scholarship”.
In March 2022, Oil magnate, philanthropist, entrepreneur and lifelong learner, Dr. Akintoye Akindele, who was the 11th Convocation Lecturer, announced a sholarship scheme to 1% (22 students) of the best newly admitted students, just as he reaffirmed his plans to establish a Research Centre for African History and Archaeology, as well as a Unicorn Innovation and Incubation Centre. at the Imota Campus of Caleb University.
While addressing 100 Level Students during the ‘Agogo’ Programme, themed ‘The Sound of Transformation’, where the 22 receipients were formally presented to the University Community, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens Ibie, congratulated and urged them to sustain the tempo, as the Scholarship runs through the Final Year, provided they do not fall below the benchmark of 4.50 CGPA; else they will be overtaken and replaced.

Relations (5.00); Okoye Obianuju Favour (4.87); Okafor Laurina Uchechukwu (4.87); Enayaba Divine-Vision Osarodion (4.80); Nwawulu Mmesoma Treasure (4.88); Aro Promise Ayomide (4.88) and Imogu Jonathan Chukwunonso (4.76).

Championing people with the courage to persevere, commit and achieve in academics, the Dr Akintoye Akindele Scholarship, is an inclusive education award that recognizes indigent freshers, who have kick-started their academic endeavours on an excellent note
