UTME 2024: Expert Advice for Prospective Candidates by Abimbola Olulesi

Prof. Adesola Adetutu Ajayi of the Department of Biological Sciences, Caleb University, Lagos, will deliver the institution’s 7th Inaugural Lecture on April 18, 2024.
The topic of the lecture slated for the Multipurpose Hall of Caleb University, Km. 15, Ikorodu-Itoikin Road, Imota, Lagos, is “From Abraham, The Greek Philosophers, Housewives, The French Industrialist To Modern Biotechnology: Microbial Enzyme Research For Food Security.”
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie will chair the event.
Presently the Director of Quality Assurance at the university, Prof. Ajayi is an enthusiastic researcher with a passion for academia, communication, leadership development, and learning.
She is an alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, where she obtained a M.Sc. and PhD in Microbiology with specialization in Microbial Physiology (Enzymology) and Biotechnology.
This erudite scholar was the Dean, Faculty of Science at Augustine University from 2018 to 2021 and later Dean of Student Affairs at the same university.
Prof. Ajayi’s research won the best paper presentation and content at the International Conference on Medical and Health Science (ICMHS) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2015.
She was part of the team involved in the development of a Post- Harvest Storage System for the preservation of tomato fruits at Covenant University, Ota,
Her team also had a patent from their research on Parkia Biglobosa Seed (Iru) in 2017.
She has won several awards locally and internationally for her academic exploits.
In March 2021, this researcher won Nigeria’s Outstanding Lecturer of the Year Award in the first edition of the National Education Award designed to honour individuals who have displayed outstanding professionalism in the country’s educational sector.
