Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, held its second PH.D hooding programme for 15 doctoral candidates on Friday, January 17.
The successful candidates were from the Departments of Architecture, Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, and Mass Communication, with Architecture producing eight of the newly confirmed doctors.
Those hooded on Friday were:
- Oroniyi Kehinde Tunde – Architecture
- Ololade Olatunji Lateef – Mass Communication
- Adenubi Olufunmilola Omolola – Architecture
- Ugbeshe Faith Nneba – Computer Science
- Odefadehan Tayo Christian – Architecture
- Makinde Olugbenga Samuel – Economics
- Ademakinwa Olasumbo Olajumoke – Architecture
- Oludayo-Ibrahim Ifeoluwa Sarah – Economics
- Akinlabi Olajide Gideon – Accounting
- Ibitoye Obafemi Adeniyi – Architecture
- Obabirin Anthony – Architecture
- Babamboni Adekunle Solomon – Architecture
- Ogunbola Omotola Elizabeth – Mass Communication
- Solomon Olusegun Adewale – Architecture
- Anishere-Hameed Raimi Adekunle – Accounting
In his opening remark, the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, recalled that two members of staff who were part of the institution’s graduate development scheme in 2019 were among the 15 doctoral graduates confirmed at the event.
He also expressed excitement that the number of PH.D graduates produced by the university increased by six from nine in 2024 to 15 this year.
On his part, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation, Strategy and Administration (RISA), Prof. Lekan Asikhia, gave the historical perspective of the PH.D programme.
Other speakers at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof, Sunday Olumuyiwa Adewale, and Akinlabi, the PH.D graduate with the best thesis.
