In his convocation address, the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, thanked the parents of the graduating students and investors for the confidence reposed in the university.

He listed the various achievements recorded by the university under his watch and urged the parents to extend the same support accorded to him to the acting Vice-Chancellor who is expected to come on board in the coming days.

“God has been good to the university. We thank the parents for the confidence reposed in us which has made the university virile.

“We value the alumni and we honoured our outstanding staff and students for their roles in the success recorded by the university during the last Christmas Carol,” Prof. Owens-Ibie stated.

The Overseer, Peace House, Gboko, Bro. Gbile Akanni, who delivered the Convocation Lecture titled: “Optimising Your God-Given Potentials in Making A Global Difference,” charged the graduates to be agents of change in society.

He challenged them to set the pace, break barriers, and find solutions to things that hitherto had remained invisible, inaccessible, and unattainable in the rapidly changing world.

“A trailblazer is a pioneer who sets the pace, breaks barriers, and calls forth that which hitherto had remained impossible to the average men and women around. A trailblazer is a leader who summons followership by the inspiration of his life and action, “ the cleric counseled.

The vice-chancellors of some sister universities, including the Pan Atlantic University, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUTECH), Cornerstone University, Christopher University, Dennis Osadebey University, McPherson University, Bowen University, and Mountain Top University also sent their goodwill messages on the convocation ceremony.
