UTME 2024: Expert Advice for Prospective Candidates by Abimbola Olulesi

Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, held its 2024 Christmas Carol on Wednesday, 18 December to usher in the festive season.
The Carol Service held at the institution’s Convocation Arena witnessed the unveiling of the “Vice-Chancellor for One Day,” Master Chibuzor Nwachukwu, a 400-level student from the Department of Computer Science.
In his opening address, the Chairman of the occasion and Co-Founder of Fastest Cakes, Dr. Omiete Charles-Davies, announced a scholarship scheme for 10 students of the institution.
At the well-attended event, the university management honoured some deserving staff and students with awards and monetary gifts for their service to the institution, exemplary conduct and outstanding academic performance in the outgoing year.
The recipients of the awards include Mr. Olumide Fadaitan, the Secretary to the University Vice–Chancellor, who was recognized as Best University Staff in Character, and Dr. Ayorinde Oduyoye, Best University Faculty in Character.

The students pocketed between N50,000 and N100,000 for their academic exploits during the period.
In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor for One Day thanked the university management for providing a conducive environment for learning.
He said: “Caleb University is interested in our future. The management has, in the last few years, put together initiatives and ideas that are placing us at the forefront of the job market.”
The Guest Minister, Pastor Godspower Paulinus Otafia of Life Transformation Church in Lagos, charged the audience to rededicate their lives to Jesus Christ.
“A destiny will malfunction without the presence of the Saviour (Jesus Christ) in his life. A destiny is ordained to function, and function optimally as we subscribe to the leadership of Jesus Christ,” the cleric counselled.
The Christmas Carol featured song ministrations, dance performances and drama presentations by the Caleb University Priesthood Orchestra, TMC Royal Family as well as student and guest artistes such as Kanyisola and Demilade Adepegba (Sax).
The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, in his closing remark, thanked the staff and students for taking part in the event and prayed for a prosperous New Year 2025.
