Caleb University VC, Registrar harp on work ethic at leadership workshop for staff

The Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, charged the staff of the institution to rededicate themselves to their duties.

Prof. Owens-Ibie stated this at a leadership workshop for the university’s clerical staff held in the boardroom of the Mass Communication Department.

He stressed the need for a new approach from the staff to lift the institution to greater heights in the increasingly competitive tertiary education sector.

The VC, who supported his address with references from the bible, urged the staff to rid themselves of acts that would undermine or erode public confidence in the university.

On his part, the University Registrar, Mr. Mayokun Olumeru, challenged the staff to boost productivity with a strong work ethic.

“Employees with strong work ethics boost productivity and reduce cost by giving what the work requires,” he counselled.

Strong work ethic, the registrar added, “also boosts staff morale. Without a doubt, an organization with strong work ethics is more likely to enjoy a better reputation.”
