In its strategic bid to educate, orientate and support parenting in an evolving society, the Executives of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Caleb International School, Magodo, Lagos, under the auspices of Rev’d Alexander Faranpojo, will on Saturday June 18, 2022 by 10:00am, hold a Parenting Seminar titled “The Role of Parents in Children Education in an Evolving World”, at the multipurpose hall (Dola Hall) of the School.

The event will attract eminent personalities including the  Honourable Commissioner of Education Lagos State, Hon. (Mrs) Folashade Adefisayo and Hon.Femi Saheed, an honourable member of the the Lagos State House of Assembly, both of them as Guests of Honour. The Guest Speaker for the event will be Rev’d (Mrs) Funke Felix-Adejumo.

According to Rev’d Faranpojo, “as parenting in this dispensation tries to adjust itself to current realities of an evolving society, the PTA Executive Council of our beloved  Caleb International School, Magodo, decided to package a one-day enlightening Seminar to help parents bridge the gaps in parenting and foster desirable outcomes regarding parents’ crucial roles as they relate to their children’s education and moral needs.”

The 2010 Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), which clearly identifies parent education as a core prevention service, equally recommends Parenting Seminar to  help parents learn more about what to expect in the coming years and prepare for each developmental stage of the children. It is well founded that confident, decisive parents tend to raise confident, secure children. Parenting classes and seminars offer a much-needed skill set to boost parents’ knowledge and parenting capacity, thus reducing parents’ anxiety while keeping parents calm, collected and confident.
