The Department of Mass Communication on Friday defeated the team from the College of Pure and Applied Sciences (COPAS) 3-0 in the ongoing inter-collegiate game at Caleb University, Imota, Lagos.

The COPAS team which comprised players from the Departments of Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology was no match for their counterparts from the College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences (CASMAS) who dominated the proceedings from the blast of the whistle.

The budding journalists opened the scoring midway through the first half and put the game to bed with two more goals in the second half.

In another game played the same day at the university sports ground, the Department of Accounting defeated the team from the Department of Criminology/Nursing 2-0.

One goal in each half separated the two sides in the closely contested encounter.

Volleyball teams from each department also took to the field on Friday as the week-long sports fiesta gradually drew to a close.
