Caleb University, Imota Lagos, proudly announces the appointment of Mr. Oluwatunmise Precious Ogunniyi, the Academic Director of the Student Representative Council (SRC), as the 7th ‘Vice-Chancellor for One Day’ (VCOD) on December 12th.

Mr. Ogunniyi, a proficient 400 Level Computer Science student, renowned for his expertise in website design and WordPress, has been chosen for this esteemed role. His ongoing project aims to revolutionize website development by creating a code-free platform, catering to individuals unfamiliar with technical intricacies.

Recognized for his outstanding service and leadership, Mr. Ogunniyi has previously received accolades such as “ICT Unit Most Committed Chapel Worker,” “Vice President of Campus Fellowship,” and “Overall Most Committed Chapel Worker.”

Being the second student to hold the esteemed position of Vice-Chancellor for One Day, Mr. Ogunniyi follows the footsteps of five distinguished members of the University’s Graduate Development Scheme who previously served in this capacity.

Initiated by Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie, Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University, the ‘One Day Vice-Chancellor Programme’ aims to acknowledge and reward exemplary behavior and performance among both staff and students.

During his tenure, Mr. Ogunniyi will assume the responsibilities of a Vice-Chancellor, including presiding over the esteemed 2023 Christmas Carol Service on December 12th, an integral event in the University calendar.

His schedule will involve sessions with the Vice-Chancellor and principal officers, engaging with student leaders, the Caleb Media Team, and former recipients of this honor. Additionally, Mr. Ogunniyi is slated to make a live guest appearance on Radio Caleb 89.3 FM. His parents will also be part of this momentous day.
