Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Unlocking Youth Potential for Economic Growth

A. 1). Students – in furtherance of their existing responsibility to ensure the cleanliness of their rooms and corridors, are to return for the 2nd Semester, 2022/2023 Session, with Cleaning Materials they require to sweep, mop and tidy their rooms and immediate surroundings.
The maintenance of a very high level of hygiene in rooms, halls, and the University environment, will be utmost priority from now.
2). All litter or waste products must be deposited ONLY in waste bins and refuse dumps.
3). Litter in classrooms have to be removed by students in any class. Students entering such classes should not meet any litter. Where they find such litter, a report should be immediately made by the lecturer and Class Governor of the next class, to any two of the following- HoD/Dean/Dean of Students/Student Affairs Officer, Director of Quality Assurance, for immediate action.
4). The School Janitors/Cleaners would only be responsible for sweeping classrooms, office, and other general spaces, and the environment.
5). The last Wednesday of each month (Sports outfit Day), will also be Hygiene Day
REWARDS FOR COMPLIANCE
a). Letter of Commendation
b). Hygiene Ambassador Award, c). Display of Exemplary Hygiene Ambassador Pictures on University website and social media platforms.
d). Other rewards to be announced.
B) All Academic staff, including Deans, HoDs and lecturers, and Administrative Staff, will be fully involved in cleanliness in colleges, departments and lecture venues, and other locations on campus, by being role models and ensuring compliance.
There would be sanctions for defaulters.
Remember, cleanliness is next to godliness. Let us ‘Stand Out’ and make our environment the best!
